Functional Health & Primary Care
Care for the Whole Family
Experience functional and integrative primary care with our Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) — available for teens, adults, and elders of all genders including non-binary individuals. Whether you’re seeking a routine annual check-up or have specific concerns you’d like to address, you will work together with our functional health provider to create a personalized care plan tailored to your needs.
Primary Care with a Functional Health Lens
Functional and integrative healthcare is a personalized approach to healing, taking into consideration the many physical, mental, emotional, and social layers that impact a whole person’s health and looks for what might be at the true core of the underlying issues. Treatment plans may include herbal, homeopathic, or medication prescriptions as well as nutritional and/or lifestyle counseling.
Optimizing Longterm Health
Functional health includes wellness exams from teens to elders, in-depth functional lab and nutrient testing, nutrition and lifestyle counseling, and problem visits to address specific concerns such as PCOS, chronic fatigue, and more. Functional health often includes ongoing monitoring to optimize your health outcomes.
What To Expect at Your Visit
-
Annual exams are 60 minutes. You will complete a detailed health history prior to your visit and we will spend the first part of your appointment reviewing this history in detail, learning about you and what concerns you are hoping to address. We will discuss available screenings and tests you may be due for, you may desire, or we may recommend based on your history. We will perform a physical exam and will collect lab samples in-house as appropriate. We will make a plan with you for follow up.
-
Problem visits will vary in length according to the issue(s) being addressed. We will collect and send appropriate lab samples as appropriate to diagnose and address your concerns. If indicated, we will prescribe medication or recommend natural, herbal, or homeopathic remedies. We will facilitate referrals as needed to other specialists.
Telehealth visits are available and are often used for ongoing follow up care and monitoring. Telehealth may not be appropriate for every case.
