Mental Wellness

Why Mental Wellness?

We consider wellness to include a person’s physical, emotional, spiritual and emotional well-being. While an amazing experience, becoming a new family also comes with unavoidable stressors and challenges. Our in-house psychotherapists helps parents and parents-to-be prepare for, understand, and navigate early family life by introducing skills and techniques to better manage the demands of becoming a parent.

Who Is Eligible?

Our mental wellness services are available to any established client including pregnant, postpartum, or well-person. Clients of all gender affiliation, including males, are encouraged to benefit from these services. Non-female clients can schedule an intake appointment with our Family Nurse Practitioner.

Couples & Family Therapy

Couples and families can benefit from therapy as long as there is one established BBHH client in the partnership/family. These therapy sessions may assist those adjusting to the demands of new parenthood, experiencing conflict within their partnership or family, processing prior trauma, and more.

How to Get Started & What to Expect

  • We are able to offer mental health services in partnership with the Parent and Family Wellness Center via Colorado’s Collaborative Care Program, an initiative to decrease patient costs and facilitate access to care by integrating psychotherapy services into primary care settings.

  • To schedule, you will first need an appointment with one of our Certified Nurse Midwives or our Family Nurse Practitioner. During this appointment, you will discuss the collaborative care model and receive a referral to the program. You may then schedule up to two therapy visits per month, indefinitely.
