Boulder, Colorado’s only freestanding birth center, Boulder Birth & Holistic Health — formerly The Birth Center of Boulder—has been offering midwife-led, out-of-hospital birth and sexual health services to the community for a decade. Founded by women and once again owned and operated by women, our birth center’s team of skilled midwives has welcomed more than 1,087 babies into the world and has served over 3,800 individuals and families.
Midwifery Care for Low Risk Families
Our dedicated team of Certified Nurse-Midwives and Certified Professional Midwives is passionate about offering families evidence-based pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and early newborn care. Long prenatal appointments in a welcoming and relaxed out-of-hospital setting allow our midwives to get to know each individual family’s unique circumstances, working together to reach shared decisions that are right for them.

At BBHH, we are honored to be able to address more comprehensive health needs of our community at large, far beyond the birth journey. In-house gynecological and sexual health, integrative, functional medicine-inspired primary care, mental wellness and psychotherapy, acupuncture, and lactation support services are available for all ages and genders.

Our logo incorporates the image of the dragonfly with great intention. The dragonfly represents embracing change, adaptability, and transformation in order to reach one’s fullest potential. As we “rebirth” our beloved birth center, we are embracing this beautiful creature’s symbolism of wisdom, power, and joy as it embarks bravely on new beginnings.
