Bry Kring, CNM, FNP, MSN

Family Nurse Practitioner, Craniosacral Specialist & Midwife

A Boulder, CO native, Bry (she/her) trained as a midwife in the United States and Latin America, from interning at a birthing center on the border of Juarez to learning from Mayan Midwives in the highlands of Guatemala, to high-risk hospital settings. She has witnessed birth in many of its different forms and settings and honors the deeply transformative and uniting force that it is, for all those involved. In addition to providing midwifery care, Bry is also a Family Nurse Practitioner and excitedly offers integrative and functional primary care and menopausal support at BBHH. Bry is also a craniosacral practitioner. Bry works creatively to find what best meets the needs and desires of each client in a safe, individualized, and holistic way. She is committed to increasing access to midwifery care for all people and building a stronger community around empowered and individualized birth and health care. In her free time, Bry is a watercolorist and writer, loves being in nature, teaches yoga, rides her motorcycle and gets her hands dirty in the garden. She speaks both English and Spanish.

Lauren Shuler, IBCLC

Lactation Consultant

Like so many before her, Lauren (she/her) first developed a passion for breast/chestfeeding after having her first child. This passion eventually pushed her to put a hold on her career as a professional engineer and pursue lactation after the birth of her second child. She is especially passionate about equity in the lactation and infant feeding space and is working to improve the quality of and access to care for everyone, especially those in historically marginalized communities. In an effort to provide the best care possible to all her clients, Lauren continually participates in trainings led by and focused on LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC cultural competency and care. Lauren is an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), professional engineer, board member on the Northern Colorado Breastfeeding Coalition, racial equity co-facilitator for local government, and a volunteer victim advocate. In her practice, she works to give parents support, education, and confidence in meeting their chest/breastfeeding goals, whatever those may be. ​Lauren lives with her partner, two kids, and two cats.

Nicki Baumbach, LSW, MPH

Therapist

Nicki (she/her) is a Licensed Social Worker with the Parent and Family Wellness Center (PFWC) and brings a wealth of experience in maternal and child health to BBHH via Colorado’s Collaborative Care Model, an initiative to better integrate behavior health services into primary care settings. While completing a dual Master’s program in Social Work and Public Health, Nicki worked in Namibia as a Medical Social Worker in the maternity unit where she provided therapy to families processing infant loss and postpartum distress. After graduating, Nicki participated in a public health fellowship in India evaluating the effectiveness of a mobile fetal heart rate monitor. Before joining the PFWC, Nicki worked with families as a Clinical Case Manager helping children and parents achieve mental and physical wellness, stability, and an overall sense of purpose. She approaches her work with clients from an attachment theory perspective and incorporates modalities such as CBT, DBT, and Mindfulness when appropriate. Nicki is trained to work with individuals and couples. Nicki’s commitment to self-care includes: spending time with her partner and daughter, practicing yoga, traveling to new places, enjoying a page-turning book, and sharing delicious meals with loved ones.

“Simba” Eun-Hye Shim, LAc

Acupuncturist

Simba (she/her) has a Master of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder, CO. Born and raised in Seoul, Korea, she studied Chinese classics, language, astrology and Korean traditional medicine back in Korea before formal training in acupuncture and Traditional East Asian Medicine in the US. She joined our practice after she had an empowering and beautiful birth at the Birth Center of Boulder and has always felt strongly connected to the community. With a deep aspiration to help women throughout their lifespan, she specializes in pregnancy, birth, gynecology, fertility (all genders) and orthopedic conditions including chronic pain (all genders). After extensive study of various acupuncture traditions, Simba mainly practices Korean Saam 5 element acupuncture and the Master Tung system along with TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) acupuncture for the best clinical result.

Hannah Taxman, MA, LPCC

Therapist

Hannah is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Parent and Family Wellness Center (PFWC) and joins BBHH via Colorado’s Collaborative Care program. With a client-centered and mindfulness-based approach, Hannah creates a safe and supportive environment that recognizes and honors each individual’s unique circumstances, experiences, and identity. Hannah understands the challenges and discomforts that often accompany significant life changes and transitions, and she draws from her mindfulness-based background to incorporate a holistic approach that encourages self-inquiry, curiosity, and courageous transformation. Hannah holds a particular passion for Perinatal Mental Health, approaching the birth experience with profound respect for the wisdom it holds, challenges it presents, and the transformative healing it can ignite. Hannah’s additional training as a vocalist brings a unique perspective to her therapeutic approach—helping clients find their own, authentic “voices,” and supports them in expressing their true selves. Hannah is genuinely thrilled to work with and support you and your loved ones during this transformative time in your lives.
