Ultrasounds
Bedside Obstetric Ultrasounds
Our midwives are trained in ultrasounds commonly needed during routine prenatal care, and are able to perform these scans in-house. These may include fetal viability checks or dating confirmation, position verification (typically performed at 36 weeks to verify a head-down baby), and amniotic fluid measurements. The use of ultrasound is a shared decision between the midwife and client, and is always performed with verbal consent.
Fetal Anatomy Scans & More
We are thrilled to be able to offer in-house detailed fetal anatomy scans for BBHH clients as well as to clients of the homebirth community. In addition to fetal anatomy evaluations, our sonographers perform follow up scans to re-evaluate fetal anatomy, placenta location, cervical length, fetal growth, NT scans, BPPs, and more.
These scans are performed by highly experienced sonographers contracted by BBHH and are interpreted by a Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) OB/GYN physician.
Non-Obstetric Pelvic Imaging
We are proud to also offer complete or limited pelvic ultrasounds which may be recommended for a range of gynecological concerns, from pelvic pain, to abnormal uterine bleeding, to PCOS management, to fibroids assessment, and more.
These scans are performed by highly experienced sonographers contracted by BBHH and are interpreted by a Maternal Fetal Medicine OB/GYN physician.
